September 2001

My my, how time flies.  It's autumn in the northern hemisphere and the leaves are changing.  The air is turning crisp in the evening, the daytime weather is getting pleasant and unoppressive once again.  This is definitely my favorite time of year.  The time of year to break out the lush, deep red wines again.  The time to uncover the wood pile and start roasting marshmallows in the back yard.  Time to break out the rake and pile the leaves up.  Time to rest in front if the TV and watch some football!  Or better yet, pack a cooler and head out to the game!  And while you are packing the cooler, you must always take along one or two of your favorite bottles of SMS.  This month, the PLOWED Society presents a Malt for the Autumn weather.  

I received this from Louis Perlman again, my source for SOTM columns.   This is a good Autumn SMS because of it's BIG and BOLD taste.  It's very complex and has a long warming finish.  You can read more about the tasting notes by clicking the link below.
