So, it is almost Summer 2002 already. I am busy trying to
figure out how to keep all the damn weeds under control without
killing any wildlife or kids. I already mowed the damn yard for
goodness sake and it's only April! Oh well, I am sorta
glad winter is over and summer is soon coming. The best part is
going to see the Toledo Mud Hens play baseball in their brand spanking
new stadium. Man, is that place pretty. Now we can really
enjoy going and watching them LOSE@!!
In any event, this is the first feature of the newly formatted site
and I am toning it down a wee bit. I used to have a write-up
about the distillery and all that, but it took way too much time from
my schedule to keep that up. I still have all the old Scotch of
the Month pages here for reference, but those days of adding all that
content each month is unfortunately over. Unless I can get some
features from you! Help me keep the content fresh by submitting
a story or scotch feature or ratings or whatever you feel like sending
in. I will find a place for it somewhere.
For the first in what hopefully will be many features, I've decided
to let you in on a special bottle of single malt whisky, very limited
and hard to get a hold of and close to the hearts of all PLOWED
members. It's our second vanity bottling done for us here at
PLOWED. We call it "The Ardbeggeddon" and as you may have
guessed, it is a bottle of Ardbeg. 29 years old, bottled at cask
strength for us by Douglas Laing & Co. in conjunction with The Whisky
Shop in Scotland. This very special whisky is a drammer's dream
of Islay whiskies. Taken from a SINGLE cask, this is a very
limited impression of Ardbeg indeed and those of you that have a
bottle or two of these in your collection should feel lucky for sure.
Below is the label for "The Ardbeggeddon".
